Cloudy weather and warm temperatures is helping to spread the seasonal flu virus

A warmer than average temperature in December 2012 and January 2013 along with a lack of sunshine is combining to spread the flu virus. Ultraviolet rays from the sun will kill airborne viruses and many bacteria. With an absence of sunlight to kill viruses that float in the air, the virus spreads easily in cities with large congested populations which mainly stay indoors.

Many people die from the seasonal flu every year with the very young and old being the most vulnerable. Places like hospitals, doctor's offices, schools, factories, shopping centers, etc, where there are great numbers of people gathered in close proximity, provide an ideal environment for the transmission of viruses.

Flu Symptoms

A combination of any of the following could be the seasonal flu -

1. Fatigue
2. Difficulty falling asleep
3. Lack of appetite
4. Headache
5. Fever
6. Chills
7. Aching joints
8. Vomiting
9. Diarrhea - stomach pains
10. Chest pain*, runny nose, and coughing

*Chest pains could also indicate a bacterial infection in the lungs (pneumonia) requiring medical attention.

The flu virus seems to affect different parts of the body and may travel from one part to another. A lung infection could spread to the intestines or vice versa.

Standard Treatment Advice

Most doctors recommend a vaccination for preventing the seasonal flu. [I personally am undecided about getting a flu vaccine shot]

The usual advice given for flu symptoms is to rest, drink lots of liquids, preferably water, and to stay at home. Over the counter products for upset stomach like Pepto-Bismol can help settle an upset stomach or treat diarrhea. Aspirin is immuno suppressive and should be avoided unless a fever goes over 103 degrees F. An ice pack or a cloth soaked in cold water that is placed on an over- heated forehead can also lower the temperature and reduce a headache. Monitor high fevers every half hour. Seek medical help if any home remedy does not improve the condition.

Food-based Remedies

To soothe coughs - eat a spoonful of raw honey slowly. To kill viral and bacterial infections, use raw garlic and apple cider vinegar together. Cut up 6 cloves of raw garlic and place them in one half cup of apple cider vinegar (shake the jar and let stand for 1 hour before using). For adults, add 1 tablespoon of the mixture to a glass of water every 2 or 3 hours.

Another remedy I have personally used with good success is sauerkraut, warmed up slightly in which slices of fresh garlic are added. The lactic acid in the sauerkraut, like vinegar, kills viruses. The sauerkraut and garlic combo treat infections in the intestines, lungs, sinuses, blood, and throughout the body.

Another food-based remedy - eat raw sliced onions on rye crackers if garlic is not available. For some reason, chicken soup is always a favorite. Burnt toast and black tea can be used for upset stomach and diarrhea.

Spices and Herbs

Use Cayenne when there is no fever and body temperature is below normal. One level teaspoon of cayenne powder taken with a glass of water or use 2 or 3 cayenne capsules.

Oregano - use one-half teaspoon and swallow it with water or vegetable juice. Oregamax, a wild crafted herb sold in health food stores is especially potent.

Grapefruit seed extract - 5 to 10 drops in a glass of water. Repeat if needed.

LDM-100 or Lomatium dissectum - 20 to 30 drops in a glass of water. Repeat every hour or two if needed.

Charcoal capsules may be used for diarrhea.

Holistic and Homeopathic

Gelsemium (Hyland Labs), a homeopathic formula that has been in use over 100 years. Use as directed (sold in health food stores).

Zinc lozenges - use as directed. Supports thymus gland function (sold in drug stores).

Vitamin C - 500 to 1000 mg every 2 or 3 hours.

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) in Bath Water - a self-immunization method

This is a simple home remedy that has worked wonders many times. It is used primarily for skin infections, and measles, but it could work to shorten the duration of an infection anywhere in the body without swallowing one drop of the hydrogen peroxide.

The method is to fill a bathtub one half to three-quarters full with warm water. Add either of the following to the bath water: a. one pint of 35% hydrogen peroxide solution, or b. 12 pints of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.

You can buy the 3% H2O2 from your local drug store or grocery store. It comes in a brown bottle. The cost is usually no more than $1 a bottle.

After adding the hydrogen peroxide, use a large spoon or spatula to stir it. Then get into the tub and time it for, at least 20, but not more than 30 minutes. Get out and dry yourself off.

Usually one treatment is all that is needed and results are noticeable in 24 to 48 hours. Repeat in a few days if needed. Some of the H2O2 absorbed into in the body through the skin kills off most viruses, and can be used to reduce pain from arthritis, rheumatism, and cancer as well.

Contraindications and known problems: Do not use this treatment if a person has had an organ transplant as the immune stimulation may lead to organ rejection. Do not use this treatment if there is an active herpes infection as low dose hydrogen peroxide stimulates the growth of the herpes virus.

Suggestions for Herpes - Shingles

For herpes infections on the lips or genital area or shingles- ice cubes applied directly helps. Also lavender oil may be applied directly. The herb lomatium dissectum (brand name LDM-100 by Generation II) may be applied directly, or add 1 to 5 drops to 2 to 4 ounces of water and then apply this solution directly with a cotton ball.

Butylated Hydroxy Toluene (BHT) - one or two capsules taken daily with a fatty meal has eliminated herpes infections. Plant based selenium works best for long-term elimination of sporadic outbreaks of herpes and shingles. Consider phytosel* - a natural plant based selenium from greenhouse grown Indian Mustard Greens in a selenium broth, yeast grown selenium, or eat Brazil Nuts 4 to 8 a day. Each Brazil nut contains an average of about 100 mcg of selenium. This can vary with the soil they are grown in. For phytosel, tablets, 400 to 800 mcg daily has produced good results, including candida remissions, with no known side effects.

Avoid synthetic forms of selenium including laboratory made L selenomethionine that does not exist in nature. Other examples of toxic man-made compounds are "sodium fluoride" and "reduced iron." Reduced iron produces damaging free radicals in the intestines.

GMO initiative lost narrowly in California but the food fight continues

The ballot initiative to require the labeling of food containing genetically modified ingredients lost narrowly in California on the Nov 6th 2012 ballot. Monsanto and its allies in big agribusiness invested over $46 million and outspent the Organic Consumers Fund by 6 to 1. With lies and distortions, they frightened enough voters to narrowly defeat the initiative referendum.

With Michael Taylor, former vice president for Monsanto Corporation at FDA's food division, there is no hope for reform there.

The GMO labeling fight is "on" in the States of Washington and New Mexico

A website farmfutures.com reported the following on Jan 11, 2013:

"New efforts to label genetically modified foods surfaced in both New Mexico and Washington state this month, revisiting the idea that GM labeling may soon become a national concept."

The labeling of genetically modified foods had its first major fight in California this past November with Prop 37. Farm Futures states:

"After millions of dollars were spent fighting for and against the measure, which would have labeled foods with GM ingredients, it narrowly failed with 47% of voters voting yes and 53% voting no. "Now, a similar initiative was filed late last week with the Washington Secretary of State. It's sponsor, Chris McManus, is connected with the "Label It WA" group, which supports a campaign to "establish mandatory labeling of foods produced through genetic engineering."

The GM labeling initiative in Washington is called I-522. For more information, go to labelitwa.org. I-522 is now before law-makers who may adopt it or place it on the ballot,

In New Mexico, State Senator Peter Wirth, introduced Senate Bill 18, that would require the labeling of food and animal feed which contain genetically modified material through the use of recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid technology, genetic engineering or bioengineering.

Kenya Bans GMO foods!

Posted Nov 21 2012: The website occupymonsanto.com reports that the nation of Kenya has banned the importation of all of Monsanto's GMO foods. This story is huge and is the result of the study published in Paris, France in September 2012 which found Monsanto's corn and herbicide "Roundup" caused massive tumors to grow in Wistar rats that damaged their liver, and kidneys as well. Hundreds of websites are reporting this, but not CNN, MSNBC, or Fox. Why? Here is what Occupy Monsanto states on its website on Nov 21, 2012:

"Public Health minister Beth Mugo subsequently directed all Public Health Officers at all ports of entry and all other government regulators to enforce the ban on importation of Genetically Modified Foods in the country."

"This she says was following the decision made by the cabinet to ban the importation of GMO foods into the country due to inadequate research done on GMOs and scientific evidence provided to prove the safety of the foods until such a time that the country will certify that they have no negative impacts on the health of consumers." "Consequently, the government has decided that until such an informed policy decision is made, all GMO food imports are completely banned. All relevant government agencies have according been instructed to immediately comply with this directive and enforce the ban on importation of all GMO foods."

Kenya has a population of 43 million people. It is located in the eastern part of Africa on the Indian Ocean. This is great news and adds another chink in Monsanto's corporate armor.

The Benefits of Probiotics - our Friendly Flora

Bacteria are everywhere from the air we breathe to the water we drink to the food we eat. They are on your clothes and skin. Most bacteria are good and beneficial for our health. Bacteria are microbial scavengers - they eat what is not alive. They recycle the basic building blocks of life to be used again to feed the creation of new life.

Think of a world without bacteria. Nothing would decompose. We would have the dead carcasses of dinosaurs here from 50 million years ago. Dead trees and plant would not decompose without bacteria. The oceans would be filled with dead fish. Without bacteria, the whole world would have died a long time ago. In fact, without bacteria to recycle what dies, it would not even be possible for human beings to exist on planet earth today.

Good bacteria are on our skin, in our mouth and in our intestines, and are essential for a normal functioning immune system. Antibiotic soaps destroy friendly flora on our skin and make us more vulnerable to harmful bacteria. Our skin is the largest organ we have for eliminating waste and toxic byproducts of cellular metabolism.

Activated white blood cells of our immune system reside in the lymph nodes of our intestines. Specific types of white blood cells like macrophages monitor the byproducts of digestion and seek to block foreign proteins from entering the blood supply. The health of the intestines (mouth to colon) is the foundation for a balanced immune system for the prevention of disease.

Health stresses occur when undigested proteins or partially digested proteins are absorbed into the blood supply and when a condition known as leaky gut syndrome exists. This causes inflammatory immune reactions that create food sensitivities and allergies to food. Having an abundance of friendly flora in the gut creates an inner garden that crowds out the unfriendly flora - yeast overgrowth, molds, parasites, etc that cause adverse health effects.

Natural wild strains of intestinal flora come from many sources including raw mother's milk, kefir, yogurt, yogurt cheese, sauerkraut, and cultured vegetables. Small amounts exist naturally on the surface of most fruits and vegetables.

Garlic, Bee Pollen, Cabbage as sources of Friendly Flora

In the 1980's someone wrote that raw garlic kills off good intestinal bacteria. They offered no proof for the statement. I decided to find out for myself if garlic kills off yogurt cultures and did an experiment using a yogurt maker. After heating milk to near boiling temperature and then cooling it, I filled up four 6 ounce jars. I added some chopped raw garlic to one milk container, a small amount of bee pollen to another and yogurt (with active cultures) to another and left one untreated as a control.

After 24 hours, the one with the raw garlic formed a firm solid curd. The one with the bee pollen, and the one with the yogurt cultures added also formed a solid curd. The untreated jar was still liquid. The experiment was repeated again with the same results. The solid curd had a lower pH value typical of yogurt. In other words, it was tart, and you could taste the lactic acid.

Conclusion: you can increase the friendly flora in your gut by eating some raw garlic or taking a few bee pollen capsules with each meal just as you can do so by using probiotic capsules. Sauerkraut and cultured cabbage juice are another potent source of friendly flora and contain wild strains of L. Plantarum. If you cook food before you eat it, you kill off the friendly flora in the food. This raises a question about food preservatives. Logic tells us that preservatives with antimicrobial properties will suppress the growth of friendly as well as unfriendly bacteria.

Messages from Our Lady of Medjugorje

Since 1981, in a small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina named Medjugorje, the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing and giving messages to the world. She tells us that God has sent Her to our world, and these years she is spending with us are a time of Grace granted by God. In Her own words She tells us, "I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God". Our Lady's mission is one of peace and love. She has come to earth to reeducate us and to help us convert and re-center our lives back to God.

Our Lady continues to give messages to six people from the village of Medjugorje: Ivan, Jakov, Marija, Mirjana, Vicka, and Ivanka. These six people (referred to as "visionaries") have received apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary since June 24, 1981. In addition to Her public messages, Our Lady is to give each of the six visionaries a total of ten "secrets" or happenings that will occur on earth in the near future. Some of the secrets pertain to the whole world while others concern the visionaries themselves or the local village. Only one of the secrets has so far been revealed by the visionaries.

In the third secret Our Lady has promised to leave a supernatural, indestructible, and visible sign on the mountain where she first appeared.

"This sign will be given for the atheists. You faithful already have signs and you have become the sign for the atheists. You faithful must not wait for the sign before you convert; convert soon. This time is a time of grace for you. You can never thank God enough for His grace. The time is for deepening your faith, and for your conversion. When the sign comes, it will be too late for many."

When each of the six visionaries has received all ten "secrets", Our Lady will stop appearing to them on a daily basis. Marija, Vicka, and Ivan have received nine secrets. Mirjana, Jakov, and Ivanka have received all ten secrets, and Our Lady appears to them once per year. Ivanka received her 10th secret on May 7, 1985, Jakov on Sept. 12, 1998, and Mirjana on Dec. 25th 1982.

Our Lady has been appearing to Mirjana on the 2nd of each month since August 2, 1987 for the purpose of praying for all unbelievers. Mirjana tells us that it is very important to pray for the unbelievers, who are described as those who have not yet experienced God's love. No one knows when Our Lady will give the tenth secret to Marija, Ivan, and Vicka.

Once Our Lady has stopped appearing there will be three warnings given to the world. These warnings will be in the form of events on earth. They will occur within Mirjana's lifetime.

Ten days before warning, she will advise the priest she chose for this task (Father Petar Ljubicic), to pray and fast with Mirjana for seven days. Three days before each warning is to take place, Fr. Petar will announce to the world what, where, and when the warning will occur. Fr. Petar has no choice, and must reveal each warning. After the first warning, the other two will follow in a short period of time. The interval will be for a period for grace and conversion.

After the permanent, visible, supernatural, and indestructible sign appears on the mountain where Our Lady first appeared in Medjugorje there will be little time for conversion. For that reason, the Blessed Virgin invites us to urgently pray for conversion and reconciliation. The permanent sign will lead to many healings and conversions before the secrets become reality. According to Mirjana, the events predicted by the Blessed Virgin are near. By virtue of this experience, Mirjana proclaims to the world: 'Hurry, be converted; open your hearts to God.'

The ninth and tenth secrets are serious. They concern chastisement for the sins of the world. Punishment is inevitable, for we cannot expect the whole world to be converted. The punishments can be diminished by prayer and penance, but cannot be eliminated. Mirjana says that one of the evils that threatened the world, the seventh secret, has been averted, thanks to prayer and fasting. That is why the Blessed Virgin continues to encourage prayer and fasting:

"You have forgotten that with prayer and fasting you can ward off wars, suspend natural laws."

The Massacre at Newtown, CT

A report and possible cover-up that Adam Lanza's used the anti-psychotic drug Fanapt.

A day that shocked the conscience of the nation was Friday, December 14, 2012. A mentally disturbed young man, Adam Lanza, fatally shot his mother, Nancy, at their Newtown, CT, home. She had home schooled him and he had earned a G.E.D.

About 9:30 am, Adam Lanza went to the school where his mother had previously worked. Adam was wearing black clothing, earplugs, and an olive green utility vest. He was armed with a Bushmaster XM-15, a semi-automatic rifle, that can fire 30 rounds in one clip. He then shot his way through a locked glass door at the front of the building and stormed his way into the school. (The Bushmaster XM-15 is a preferred weapon for mass killers).

The Principal, Dawn Hochsprung, and the school psychologist, Mary Sherlach, heard the sound of gunfire and left a faculty meeting to rush into the hallway and see what was happening. They confronted Lanza who immediately gunned them down. When the killing spree was over, 20 children were riddled with bullets and 6 adults including several school teachers died. The gunman took his own life as first responders arrived at the school.

Who should be held responsible for this tragedy?

First, the mother should be blamed for her poor judgment. She knew her son was mentally ill yet, she allowed him access to a military style semi-automatic rifle. She even took him to shooting ranges where he could practice his shooting skills. Ultimately, she paid for her poor judgment with her own life.

Was Adam Lanza using Fanapt?

The New York Daily News reported on Sunday Dec 16, 2012 that Adam Lanza was taking the Anti-Psychotic Drug Fanapt. The Daily News quoted Adam Lanza'a uncle as the source of this story. Then the following morning, Dec 17th, all references to the statement made by Adam Lanza'a uncle was deleted from the online version of the paper. Was this a cover-up by the N.Y. Daily News to protect the manufacturer of Fanapt (Vanda Pharmaceuticals) from being blamed for the Newtown, CT massacre? Did the N.Y. Daily News get a phone call from Vanda's lawyers? By the time the N.Y. Daily News pulled the story the following morning, the story had already gone viral on the Internet.

Fanapt is a drug that was approved by the FDA in 2008 to treat schizophrenia. On May 6th 2009, Bloomberg News reported that Vanda's stock soared 7 fold in Nasdaq trading following the announcement. Investors on Wall St racked up millions in profits. Was this blood money?

The Side effects of Fanapt

An Dec 19th, Anthony Gucciardi of Natural Society Newsletter reported on this story and is quoted as stating:

"The 'Connecticut Shooter' Adam Lanza has now been reported by mainstream media to indeed be taking the violence-linked anti-psychotic drug known as Fanapt, a prediction I made after the news of the shooting broke."

"Psychiatric side effects including restlessness, aggression, and delusion have been reported frequently. Hostility, decreased libido, paranoia, anorgasmia, confusional state, mania, catatonia, mood swings, panic attack, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, delirium, polydipsia psychogenic, impulse-control disorder, and major depression have been reported infrequently."

Note: Mike Adams of naturalnews.com reports that several mass killers were on antipsychotic drugs for psychosis or depression while carrying out their crimes.

By now, most of us have heard (from Brian Williams at NBC and numerous other TV talk show hosts) of the "One Trillion Dollar Platinum Coin." That's adds up to 100 Billion Dollars for starters! 10,000 of those platinum coins would equal One Trillion Dollars. Why is anybody worried about our credit rating when the federal government has the Constitutional authority to mint its own money? Why do we even have a national debt? Under the Coinage Act, the section on platinum coins states:

"The Secretary may mint and issue platinum bullion coins and proof platinum coins in accordance with such specifications, designs, varieties, quantities, denominations, and inscriptions as the Secretary, in the Secretary's discretion, may prescribe from time to time."

However, the Secretary (of the Treasury) may not prescribe the minting of gold, silver, copper or other metallic coins in any denomination without Congressional authorization. Due to a unique provision in the Coinage Act, the Treasury Secretary may mint platinum coins in any denomination he chooses. This applies only to coins made of fine platinum.

If the Secretary of the Treasury uses his special powers under the Coinage Act to mint platinum coins, he would then deposit them into the Federal Governments account at the Federal Reserve Bank. This would add to the deposits in the government's checking account, and this newly minted money could be used to pay for the government obligations and services.

The banking lobbyists in Washington will oppose this very strongly. If the Federal Government began to issue its own debt-free coins and currency, it would have no need to issue bonds and other instruments of debt. The banks would not be able to purchase government bonds and securities, and thus earn interest on them. It is because of the influence of Wall Street Bankers in Washington that Congress has not issued coins with a denomination above one dollar in many decades.

For example, take the Susan B. Anthony Dollar. It cost 12 cents to mint one Susan B Anthony Dollar, the Treasury made 88 cent profit for each Susan B. Anthony coin that it minted. Minting coins is one way for the Federal Government to increase its revenues without increasing taxes or decreasing spending.

The idea of the Secretary of the Treasury issuing a platinum coin started in an Internet Blog discussion by an attorney writing under the pen-name Beowulf. Here is an excerpt:

"Congress has delegated "unlimited" power to coin money to the Secretary of the Treasury in the platinum section of the Coinage Act, 31 USC 5112(k). There was a CRS (Congressional Research Service) report the year that was enacted (1996) which discusses coin seigniorage:" "Coins, too, cost only a fraction of their face value to create (being mostly "clad" coins made of nickel, zinc, and copper). If the power of the government is limited to issuing coins, there is still nothing that requires the coins to be "full bodied" - that is, to have precious metal content equal to their face value. The constitutional power to issue coins appears to be unlimited."

Jack Lew and Doodle de do

President Obama's new choice for Secretary of the Treasury is Jack Lew. Jack Lew has an unusual signature. It looks like someone doodling a series of O's that are strung along. When you count the number of these "O's" in his signature, they are eight in total. If you place a "1" in front of 8 zeros and add a dollar sign "$", it reads -

$100,000,000 One Hundred Million Dollars

If President Obama gives the green light to Sec. Lew to mint platinum coins, what should the value of each coin be? Based on Secretary Jack Lew's signature, should not each platinum coin be minted with one troy ounce of fine platinum metal and have a legal tender value of "One Hundred Million Dollars." One thousand of these coins would have a total value of 100 Hundred Billion Dollars. 10,000 would equal One Trillion.

Mr. President, what could you do with an extra 100 billion dollars in the government's checking account? We say, let the minting begin!
