Self-help for treating the common cold and seasonal flu

Conrad LeBeau

The common cold has for me been a year-in and year-out battle that has plagued me for decades. It is caused by the rhinovirus that has so many shapes and sizes it is impossible for the immune system to mount an effective antibody defense. For the same reason, researchers have been unable to develop a vaccine that works.

The main target areas of the rhinovirus are the mucus membranes of the nostrils, sinus, throat and lungs. Classic symptoms are mucus discharge from the nose, sinus, throat and lungs. Other symptoms include body aches and sore joints, mild headaches and watery eyes, the latter is also associated with allergies. If body temperature drops, the symptoms are likely to last longer than if a fever is present. The immune response with a fever is induced by a specialized protein called Interleukin 1 (IL1). The fever awakens and turns on powerful immune reactions throughout the body especially through the white blood cells.

The white blood cells contain many specialized factions that control a wide variety of immune reactions to an invading virus, bacteria, fungi, parasite or other invader such as a food particle absorbed from a leaky gut. Foreign proteins whether they are of food origin or an infection as in a virus or bacteria are the target of immune system surveillance and reaction.

The Common Cold and the seasonal flu generally do not affect people with strong TH2 humoral or (antibody) immune responses. Persons with a tendency towards cancer or who have HIV usually have overactive TH2 immune responses and they rarely get the common cold or the flu, and do not need seasonal flu shots. People who contract the common cold one or more times a year tend to have stronger TH1 (cell mediated immunity) and rarely get cancer but at the cost of being susceptible to the ever changing annual flu viruses.

While cancer can be deadly, so can the flu and the common cold if the condition is chronic or evolves into pneumonia. Specialized proteins called cytokines and interferon control immune reactions. Some cytokines and interferon tilt immune reactions towards a TH1 response and others toward a TH2 response and still others are cross-reactive and stimulate both branches of the immune system.

When all branches and aspects of immune reactions are sluggish, it is a condition called anergy or you could say your white blood cells are taking a nap. This is the worst condition of all as the invading infectious agent has no opposition and can rapidly multiply causing the infection to spread. Turning a sluggish immune response into an active one first requires removing immunosuppressive drugs and living conditions.

Unfortunately, many over the counter cold remedies alleviate symptoms by suppressing immune responses. The most common immunosuppressive drug is Aspirin. Turning off the immune response by breaking a fever with Aspirin can make a person feel better but in some cases, can be fatal when a stronger immune response is needed.

Persons with the flu should avoid any over the counter drugs that break a fever as these are usually immunosuppressive. However, if the fever is over 103 ° F (example: 106 ° F) intervention with an aspirin or other fever lowering drugs is warranted to prevent possible brain damage from too high a temperature.

Drugs to avoid when a cold or flu exists and no fever is evident or is below 103° F

  • 1. Aspirin
  • 2. Any other OTC drug containing salicylic acid.
  • 3. Any OTC cold remedy that claims to reduce a fever or eliminate body aches. These drugs may also suppress your immune system.
  • 4. Prednisone or other glucocorticoids.
  • 5. Nasal decongestants are bad choices as they suppress the flow of mucus. You need mucus to flow to remove the infection. When the discharge is yellow, there is active infection present.
  • The first rule to treating the Flu or the common cold is not to do anything to suppress the immune system or cause it to work needlessly. Do not go between hot and cold temperatures. If you live in a climate with changing temperatures, dress up adequately for the outdoors and put on a hat to keep your head warm before going outside. Do not go into a cold area sweating or this will make you more susceptible to catching a cold or pneumonia.

    Safe Cold remedies

    Very Important:

  • 1. Avoid foods that you are either allergic or sensitive to including all milk products (ice cream, milk or cheese) and wheat products (breads pasta).
  • 2. Rest and drink lots of water.
  • 3. Zinc gluconate - try a product called "Cold EEZE" It has been clinically rested to reduce cold durations.
  • 4. Vitamin C - up to 5000 mg every 4 to 8 hours
  • 5. Guaifenesin - 100 to 200 mg taken every 4 hours.
  • 6. Tomato juice or V8 with Tabasco sauce and or black pepper
  • 7. Raw garlic - one clove sliced and served on rye crisp with tomato, cucumber or other vegetables every 4 hours.
  • 8. Buckwheat Honey (contains small amounts of hydrogen peroxide and other anti viral substances) - take for coughs - one tsp every two hours.
  • Monitor body temperature

If body temperature is below normal (98.6 ° F), try Wakame and/or Leek soup and/or hot pepper (cayenne, jalapeño and black). Consider the following:

  • a. Wakame - simmer 1 tbsp of ready to use Wakame flakes in one cup of hot chicken broth.
  • Note: Wakame raises body temperature
  • b. Leek soup - raises body temperature as does cayenne pepper and black pepper.
  • c. Chicken rice soup. (Hot soup and hot teas (especially teas with spices in them) are always good for a cold.
  • d. Electric Blanket - Place one or two blankets on top of an electric blanket and get under it and turn it on. If body temperature gets over 99 ° F and you are not sweating, stop and make a cup of Yarrow tea to induce sweating. Once sweating is induced, drinks lots of water and gets plenty of rest. If you belong to a health club, consider using a steam room or dry sauna to over-heat the body and turn on the immune response. Some people have had success taking long hot showers (15 to 20 minutes each)
  • Herbal Cold Remedies

  • a. Yarrow - induces sweating
  • b. Mullein - for lungs - sinuses
  • c. Wild cherry bark - coughs - wheezing - relaxes bronchial tubes.
  • d. Ginger Tea - serve hot.
  • e. Hyssop - anti viral
  • f. Blue Vervain - anti viral
  • g. Elder flowers and berries - anti viral
  • h. Echinacea - boosts immune response
  • Oxidative remedies (H2O2 or Ozone) - when the going really gets tough.

10 drops of 35% H2O2 (food grade quality) in an eight ounces glass of water taken once every 4 hours. Use on an empty stomach only. Repeat up to 4 times a day. As an alternative to using H2O2, you can also drink ozonated water - one glass on a empty stomach every 4 hours or try

Ozone rectal insuflation - do this for 10 minutes once every 4 to 6 hours.

    Del-Immune V and Beta Glucan

A highly effective product for colds and flus made from Lactobacillus Rhamnosus (broken cell wall or Lysated). The cell walls of L. Rhamnosus instantly turn on the immune system. Del-immune.com

Beta glucan is also used to activate the macrophages, a type of white blood cell that engulfs bacteria and viruses. Reduces the duration of a cold and flu.

    On a personal Note

C LeBeau. I have a sensitivity to milk products and almost a food addiction to them (cheese and ice cream) so I can rarely avoid them completely for more than 4 or 5 days. Then when my guard is down, I eat more and it weakens my humoral TH2 defenses and I get a cold or sinus infection.

I can tell you from personal experience that I have tried every cold remedy listed here and they all work, some better than others. Depending on the severity of the cold, you may need to try several remedies at once to get satisfactory results.

    Remedies for Clogged Sinuses

Here are a few personal tidbits for clogged sinuses -

  • Peppermint oil. It works fast and can be used as often as you need it. Buy a one ounce bottle and open it directly under your nostrils and inhale deeply.
  • Lemon juice - fresh squeezed - mix half and half with water. Use a dropper and with your head back, place several dropperfuls into your nostrils. Inhale until it comes out of the back of your throat.
  • Salt water - add _ tsp of sea salt to 1/4 cup of warm water and use this as a nasal wash as you would the lemon juice. Salt water can also be used as a gargle.
  • Garlic clove aromatherapy - take a fresh clove of garlic and poke it with a fork - place it close to your nostrils and inhale deeply. Garlic odor kills most viruses and bacteria on contact.
  • Eucalyptus oil - spray some on your pillow before going to bed to keep your sinuses open while you sleep.
  • Inhalation therapy with steam -Bring a pan of water to a boil. Shut off heat and place a towel over your head and place your head over the pan of steaming water. Add a few drops of Vicks Vaporub or Eucalyptus oil to the hot water and inhale deeply.
  • For asthma, bronchitis, wheezing

  • Magnets; Wheezing and tight bronchial tubes caused by allergies or inflammation can be relaxed by placing the north pole of a magnet over the bronchial tube area, between the base of the throat and the heart.
  • Wild cherry bark tea - relaxes bronchial tubes
  • Guaifenesin - expectorant.
  • Chest infections/pneumonia

  • Place a towel soaked in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution over the chest area where there is pain and congestion. Do this for 30 minutes once every 4 hours. Get professional help if breathing remains difficult.
  • Sees-2000 (one capsule every 4 hours) or LDM-100 - roots of lomatium dissectum extract (20 drops in water once every 4 hours)
  • Pleurisy root tea - drink for chest pain and congestion. - reduces water in the chest area.
  • GOOT or Raw garlic or garlic oil ointment over chest area. Inhale the aroma of fresh garlic cloves to clear the sinuses and lungs.
  • Safe Flu remedies

First remedy is to STARVE A FLU

Many of the remedies listed for the common cold also work for the flu. Fasting is imperative for recovery from the Flu. Rest and drink lots of water.

Eating the wrong foods will prolong the flu. Avoid all milk products and all wheat products. Eat only if hungry.

Consider raw onions on rye crisp or raw garlic on rye crisp, sauerkraut, chicken rice soup, Wakame in chicken broth, Leek soup. If body temperature is low, use an electric blanket.

    For the intestinal flu

  • 1. Stop eating - let your self go hungry.
  • 2. Charcoal capsules - 3 capsules every 4 hours with a glass of water. Helps to absorb toxins and the flu virus in the stomach area. Burned toast may be taken in place of charcoal capsules if the latter is not available. Best used with hot tea, (green, spiced or black tea).
  • 3. Olive leaf extract - 15% to 20% oleuropein - 2 capsules every 4 hours.
  • 4. Neem bark or neem leaf capsules - 2 capsules every 4 hours
  • 5. Sauerkraut - eat a couple times daily when hungry.
  • 6. Apple cider vinegar - one tablespoon in a glass of water every 2 to 4 hours.
  • 7. Ginger root - fresh grated - one teaspoon every 2 to 4 hours. Eat plain or add make a tea.
  • 8. Yarrow: If you are not sweating, drink yarrow tea and if you do not have a fever, take 2 or 3 cayenne capsules with the tea to elevate your body temperature.
  • 9. Slippery Elm tea - good to sooth the mucus membranes of the intestines, lungs and sinuses.
  • 10. Buckwheat honey. Buckwheat is the most effective although most kinds of raw honey also contain anti microbial properties.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide in Bath Water

This treatment has worked effectively for measles, chicken pox, influenza and numerous other conditions when a systemic infection is present. ONE TREATMENT IS USUALLY ALL THAT IS NEEDED.

Go to the store and buy 12 pint bottles of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Fill a bathtub half full of hot water. Add all 12 pints to the water. Stir and get in. Use a watch. Sit in the water for 20 to 30 minutes. Get out and dry off. You are done. Now go rest and drink plenty of liquids. The hydrogen peroxide in small amounts is absorbed through the skin into the blood stream where it kills off viruses and bacteria and other pathogens.

I have talked to many people where this one treatment has eliminated various serious chronic conditions. This treatment is powerful and turns on the immune system. The treatment can be repeated once every two days if needed. If your problem is not gone after two treatments, you need to see a health care professional.

Warning: Anyone with an organ transplant should not use this treatment as it could lead to an organ rejection.

Other remedies for the flu are Del-Immune V, Beta glucan and Transfer Factor. Use as directed.

Avoid immunosuppressive treatments like Aspirin for the Flu

Aspirin should be used only if the fever is really high (103° F or higher). When you lower a fever you are also suppressing the immune response. Of the dozens of remedies for the cold and flu that are advertised, most relieve symptoms but also suppress the immune response. If a fever is broken by suppressing the immune response ( e.g. aspirin etc), that is bad as it will lengthen the time for recovery. If the fever if broken because the treatment kills the infection, that is a good treatment since it gets to the cause of the problem and is not just a palliative. This is why hydrogen peroxide, ozone, neem and garlic are so effective as treatments for various infections including colds and the flu.

No Place to Hide from Mercury Pollution - a growing worldwide problem from coal fired electrical plants

The summer Olympics in Bejing, China were performed with great grace, art and dignity but only after the government shut down half the city to reduce unbearable air pollution from its factories and cars. Today China is literally choking on its own industrial success as one or two new coal fired electricity-producing plants come online each week. As a result of growing air pollution from dirty (not clean) coal technology, the entire Pacific Ocean is slowly being poisoned with mercury, a major pollutant from the burning of coal. The pollution reaches all the way to the west coast of the United States.

The mercury in the air can enter human, animal and plants through breathing it in, by ingesting ocean and lake fish that accumulate mercury in their fatty tissues. Bacteria will convert mercury brought down by the rain into its most dangerous form - methyl mercury, a deadly neurotoxin.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that

"Mercury is toxic by ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption with acute and chronic exposure effects including central nervous system and kidney damage." "Acute exposure includes nausea, blurred vision, painful breathing, excessive salivation and pneumonitis, while chronic or longer- term exposure includes memory disturbance, hypertension, vision problems, hallucinations, tremors and personality changes. Because mercury can cross the blood-brain barrier, and because it can affect brain development, its effects are of special concern to pregnant or lactating women and young children. " For this reason, many states, including North Carolina, as well as the U.S. EPA, have issued fish consumption advisories. Many of these advisories are directed towards pregnant or lactating women and young children, or are more strict for these populations, due to concerns over developmental disabilities in infants from mercury exposure. In the year 2000, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) estimated 60000 infants born nationally with neurological and brain damage from mercury contamination. Coal fired power plants affect the elderly as well and cause thousands to develop asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and COPD from fine particle or soot pollution from the coal fired power plants. The pollution from coal affects everyone from cradle to grave causing millions of dollars of health damage to the local population.

The following is excerpted from Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources on mercury toxicity

Human Health Impacts: Although some human exposure to mercury is short-term due to mercury-containing equipment breakage and spills (acute exposure), most exposure occurs through regular consumption of fish contaminated with methyl mercury (chronic exposure). Wisconsin has issued a statewide fish consumption advisory for all inland waters due to mercury contamination. P>

Mercury may build up and affect the nervous system of adults if large amounts of fish contaminated with mercury are consumed. Studies of health effects of eating fish containing mercury have found that fetuses and children are more sensitive because mercury can affect the developing brain and nervous systems. Health effects of mercury due to fish consumption are subtle and difficult to recognize.

    Chronic Exposure

In adults, chronic exposure to methyl mercury affects the Central Nervous System (CNS) and symptoms may include:

  • sleep disturbances
  • irritability
  • memory loss
  • behavior changes
  • paresthesia - a sensation of pricking on the skin
  • blurred vision
  • malaise - a vague feeling of illness or depression
  • speech difficulties
  • constriction of the visual field
  • deafness
  • In children, effects may include:

  • impaired dexterity
  • impaired fine motor skills
  • impaired verbal memory
  • delayed development
  • Infants born to women who ingested high concentrations of methyl mercury have been shown to exhibit CNS effects such as:

  • mental retardation
  • ataxia - loss or lack of muscular coordination
  • deafness
  • constriction of the visual field
  • blindness
  • cerebral palsy
  • At lower methyl mercury concentrations, infants may exhibit symptoms such as:

  • developmental delays
  • abnormal reflexes
  • Autism and Mercury

As I look at the above list compiled by our own EPA and DNR, I ask myself this question: do not we find that mental retardation and developmental delays are traits attributable to autism, a growing national epidemic affecting one out every 150 males and a lesser number of females? It is obvious on its face that autism is not only linked but likely caused by a combination of mercury contamination and dirty vaccines, particularly the MMR vaccine thought to be contaminated occasionally with a live measles virus.

The mercury in vaccines known as thimersol may be the least likely cause of Autism but the mercury already in the food chain, soil and in the air from coal fired electrical plants may the primary source of mercury contributing to autism.

Increasing numbers of children are being born today with a whole range of birth defects with autism leading an array of physical and mental developmental disorders. The EPA mentions cerebral palsy as caused by mercury. Was their failure to mention autism as caused by mercury contamination (1) an oversight?

    Treatments for mercury contamination

  • EDTA, Cilantro, Selenium, Garlic, Spirulina
  • Gingko Biloba
  • EDTA, a man-made amino acid that has been around at least since the 1940's was originally used to chelate and reduce lead levels in persons who had been exposed to the heavy metal. EDTA has also been used to reduce other heavy metals including mercury and cadmium. Both intravenous EDTA as well as oral EDTA supplements have been used for decades to remove calcium deposits in the arteries and as an alternative to bypass surgery. It has also been used to treat cataracts as EDTA removes calcium and other mineral deposits in the lens of the eye. EDTA is on the FDA's GRAS list and is generally recognized as safe. It is also used as an antioxidant and preservative in salad dressing and other food products.

Cilantro: Aga, M. et all and 17 other Japanese researchers studied the effects of Chinese parsley (Coriandrum Sativum), otherwise known a Cilantro, on lead deposits in mice. The researchers report:

"The preventive effect of Chinese parsley (Coriandrum Sativum) on lead deposition was investigated in male ICR mice given lead (1000 ppm) as lead acetate trihydrate in drinking water for 32 days. Administration of Chinese parsley to mice by gastric intubation was performed for 25 days from day 7 after the start of lead exposure up to the end of the experiment. "

They report that "Administration of Chinese parsley significantly decreased lead deposition in the femur and severe lead-induced injury in the kidneys. In addition, urinary excretion of delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) which is known to increase with lead intake was significantly decreased after administration of Chinese parsley."

They added: These results suggest that Chinese parsley has suppressive activity on lead deposition, probably resulting from the chelation of lead by some substances contained in Chinese parsley. (1)

In an earlier published study, Omura and Beckman report that "In the spring of 1995, use of Chinese parsley for successful elimination of Hg (mercury) deposits existing in various organs was accidentally discovered after eating Vietnamese soup, which happened to contain Chinese parsley, also called cilantro. We also found Chinese parsley accelerates the excretion of Hg, Pb, and A1 from the body though the urine." (2)

The researchers found that antibiotic therapy for a herpes infection was successful only after the Cilantro treatment. They concluded that the heavy metals somehow protected the herpes virus.

    APharmacol Rep. 2008 Mar-Apr;60(2):199-208.

Department of Pharmacology, National Research Centre, Tahrir St. Dokki, Egypt.

"The present study was designed to compare the protective effect of selenium and garlic against liver and kidney damage induced by (ip) injection of 0.5 mg/kg mercury chloride (HgCl(2)) in rats. Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley rats were used in the present experiment and divided into six groupsŠ"

"We can conclude that oral administration of either selenium or garlic produces a significant protection against liver and kidney damage induced by the HgCl(2) injection, but garlic appears to be more protective."

Effects of selenium and vitamin E, in addition to melatonin, against oxidative stress caused by cadmium in rats.

    by Konar, Vahit;Kara, Haki;et al

Biol Trace Elem Res. 2007 Aug;118(2):131-7.

Department of Biology, College of Science, Firat University, Elazig, Turkey.

"The present study was carried to evaluate the protective effects of melatonin alone and vitamin E with selenium combination against high dose cadmium-induced oxidative stress in rats. The control group received subcutaneous physiological saline. The first study group administered cadmium chloride (CdCl2) by subcutaneous injection of dose of 1 mg/kg. The second study group administered cadmium plus vitamin E with selenium (1 mg/kg sodium selenite with 60 mg/kg vitamin E); the third study group administered cadmium plus 10 mg/kg melatonin (MLT); the fourth study group administered CdCl2 plus a combination of melatonin in addition to vitamin E and selenium for a month.

Determination levels of plasma malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), blood superoxide dismutase (SOD), creatinine alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and urea were measured in serum. In conclusion, vitamin E + Se, melatonin and vitamin E, and Se, in addition to MLT combinations, had protective effects against high dose cadmium-induced oxidative damage.

Ginkgo biloba extract protects against mercury(II)-induced oxidative tissue damage in rats.

    Food Chem Toxicol. 2007 Apr;45(4):543-50. Epub 2006 Aug 30.

Marmara University, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology, Istanbul, Turkey.

"Mercury(II) is a highly toxic metal which induces oxidative stress in the body. In this study we aimed to investigate the possible protective effect of Ginkgo biloba (EGb), an antioxidant agent, against experimental mercury toxicity in rat model. The results revealed that HgCl(2) induced oxidative damage caused significant decrease in GSH level, significant increase in MDA level, MPO activity and collagen content of the tissues. Treatment of rats with Ginkgo biloba significantly increased the GSH (Glutathione) level and decreased the MDA level, MPO activity, and collagen contents.

"Similarly, serum ALT, AST and BUN levels, as well as LDH and TNF-alpha, were elevated in the Hg group as compared to control group. On the other hand, EGb treatment reversed all these biochemical indices. Our results implicate that mercury-induced oxidative damage in brain, lung, liver, and kidney tissues protected by G. biloba extract, with its antioxidant effects."

Evaluation of protective efficacy of Spirulina fusiformis against mercury induced nephrotoxicity in albino mice.

    Sharma, Mukesh Kumar et al

    Food Chem Toxicol. 2007 Jun;45(6):879-87. Epub 2006 Nov 23.

"The toxicity of mercury to animals and man is well established and this depends greatly on the form of the mercury compounds. In most animals' species, including man, the kidney is the main site of deposition of inorganic mercury and target organ for its toxicity.

"In the present study Spirulina fusiformis (a cyanobacterium, belongs to family--Oscillatoriaceae) has been investigated as a possible modifier of mercury induced renal damages in Swiss albino mice.

"Mercury intoxication also induces pathological alterations in the kidney such as degeneration of glomerulus, proximal and distal tubules. A dose-dependent mortality was also observed following administration of different doses of HgCl(2).

" In combined treatment of Spirulina with HgCl(2), a significant decrease in MDA content and ACP activity and elevation in LDH and ALP activity was observed as compar"

Antioxidant effect of vitamin E and selenium on lipid peroxidation, enzyme activities and biochemical parameters in rats exposed to aluminium.

    El-Demerdash, Fatma M. et al

J Trace Elem Med Biol. 2004;18(1):113-21.

Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt.

"Aluminium has the potential to be neurotoxic in humans and animals, and is present in many manufactured foods and medicines and is also added to drinking water for purification purposes. Therefore, the present study was carried out to investigate (1) the alterations in biochemical parameters, free radicals and enzyme activities induced by aluminium chloride (AlCl3) in plasma and different tissues of male rats, and (2) the role of vitamin E (VE) and selenium in alleviating the negative effects of aluminium.

Vitamin E plays an important role as an antioxidant and is consequently expected to protect tissues from damage caused by reactive oxygen metabolites.

Selenium is also generally recognized to be a trace mineral of great importance for human health, protecting the cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. Seven rats per group were assigned to one of six treatment groups: Evaluations were made for lipid peroxidation, enzyme activities and biochemical parameters.

Results obtained showed that AlCl3 significantly (p<0.05) induced free radicals (thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances) and decreased the activity of glutathione S-transferase (GST) and the levels of sulphydryl groups (SH groups) in rat plasma, liver, brain, testes and kidney.

Vitamin E or Selenium alone significantly decreased the levels of free radicals, TL, cholesterol, urea and bilirubin, and increased the activity of GST, and SH groups, TP and albumin, while the rest of the tested parameters were not affected. Vitamin E or Selenium in combination with Aluminum partially or totally alleviated its toxic effects on the studied parameters. In conclusion, Vitamin E and Selenium have beneficial effects and could be able to antagonize Aluminum toxicity.

A plan to stop the current foreclosure meltdown needs your support.

    Conrad LeBeau

Earlier in September as the international banking system teetered on the brink of collapse, middle class Americans were shocked to watch their 401K's and IRA's shrink faster than the artic ice cap under the onslaught of global warming. How this could happen is now the subject of radio and TV talk shows and talking heads across the country.

Back in the 1980s when Paul Volcker ran the Federal Reserve Board and drove interest rates up to 18%, it caused over one million home owners and _ million farmers to lose their homes and farms. I spent 5 years from 1981 to 1986 battling wall street bankers and trying to stop farm foreclosures with a dizzying array of legal strategies but most fell on deaf ears as the courts feared to walk where none had treaded before them.

I have thus an intimate knowledge of how the Federal Reserve System and private commercial banking system operates. Wall street insiders and day traders treat the stock market like a giant gambling casino. Their practices and those of the nation's largest banks that create and lend us "credit" through "fractional reserve banking" can be summed up in these few words: "what a web we weave when we practice to deceive."

As the mortgage foreclosure crisis builds again, I find myself engaged in this battle anew, as a provider of pragmatic solutions to the foreclosure crisis. Enclosed in this newsletter is a plan for the Federal Reserve Banks to buy out and stop mortgage foreclosures and refinance them at lower interest rates. Since the Federal Reserve Banks can create their own money (credit), they can provide this bailout without using as much as a dime of taxpayer's money. Unlike private commercial banks, Federal Reserve Banks are required by law to turn their profits over to the US Treasury each year.

I urge everyone to send their US Senators and representatives a copy of this plan to stop the current foreclosure meltdown. To read the plan go to Keep Hope Alive Forum. Keep Hope Alive Forum
